The City of Cornwall owns and operates Cornwall Transit located at 863 Second Street West in Cornwall, Ontario. The current rooftop heating, ventilation and air conditioning unit (HVAC) that services the office area needs to be replaced. This project is for the supply and installation of a new rooftop HVAC unit and the removal and disposal of the old one. The current unit is a makeup air unit (MAU) that supplies minimal heat to the area. The baseboard electric heaters provide heating to the office areas but are inadequate. The air conditioning portion of the MAU must be a minimum of a 6 ton unit. The new unit must be sized appropriately to supply sufficient heating load during the coldest days of the year, but must be a minimum of 150,000 BTU’s. The successful contractor must ensure that the natural gas lines are sufficient in size to accommodate the new unit and if they are not, to allow for this in their pricing. |
